Todd Price has been a member of our Circle of Support, our monthly giving program, since 2013, and we want to celebrate his generosity!
So, we asked Todd a few questions to learn why he gives to Serve Denton every month and learned a little bit about him along the way.
How did you first learn about Serve Denton?
I heard about it from the beginning when Pat Smith and Priscilla Sanders were forming the board. I learned what Serve Denton was trying to do and agreed with the concept.
How long have you been involved with Serve Denton? And in what capacity?
From the onset, I assisted our RYLA Camp students with plantings at The Wheeler House property for several years. I was on the Rotary Board when we made the request to assist the funding of The Wheeler House.
I have attended all of the Celebrations with the exception of last year due to it falling the same weekend as my sons’ Scout camp out. I filled out a pledge form at the first Celebration for a monthly gift and have been giving ever since.
Why did you decide to start giving?
I believe in the mission of Serve Denton and feel they are a necessary part of health and human services support in Denton.
Why do you continue to give to Serve Denton every month?
Because I see and hear what Serve Denton is doing to impact lives for the better in Denton.
What is your favorite thing about Denton?
I like that Denton is a large town but at the same time maintains a small town feel to it. I also feel that Denton is one of the most caring communities you can find and am proud to be a part of it.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My wife, Chris, and I have two sons, Carter (16) and Hayden (13). They are scouts, and I am an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 65 in Denton. This year, the troop celebrates 100 years of service to the community.
I grew up in Weatherford, TX, and transferred to Denton with my employer in 1993 to finish my degree at the University of North Texas. While working full time at the bank, I graduated UNT with a bachelor’s degree in 2000.
Right now, the majority of our free time is spent being involved in what our sons are involved in. In addition, I am actively involved in BSA Troop 65, Rotary Club of Denton, 1918 Foundation, Flow Healthcare Foundation, GHS Band Boosters and 100 Dentonites Who Give a Damn.
