These funds will help cover construction costs of the medical clinic operated by Health Services of North Texas, the advocacy center operated by Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County, and the food center operated by the Denton Community Food Center.
This multipurpose facility for nonprofit agencies will serve low-income and at-risk residents of Denton County.
The Meadows Foundation’s contribution helped push us over the $1 million marker of our $3.3 million capital campaign goal. The balance of the project will be funded through other grants, capital investments from our partner nonprofits, New Markets Tax Credits, and individual and business contributions.
Where will the money go?
The contribution is crucial to Serve Denton’s mission of partnering with nonprofits to help make their services more accessible for people in need.
Upon completion of construction, Health Services of North Texas projects to serve 3,000 patients annually, Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County projects to serve 1,200 children annually, and the Denton Community Food Center projects to serve 9,000 clients annually.
It is projected that over 16,000 people will be served by all of Serve Denton’s partner nonprofit agencies in the first year of operations by the Summer of 2020.
Once the Serve Denton Center is at full capacity, partnering nonprofits will collectively save over $453,000 every year, helping impact more people.
The Meadows Foundation

The Foundation looks for programs and services that employ imaginative, innovative ways to solve community problems, and promotes projects and capital plans that lead to organizational self-sufficiency and sustainable growth.
