Learn How to Lead a Nonprofit

Leading a nonprofit is a one of a kind opportunity that brings with it all kinds of unique challenges.

On the one hand, you know your organization is making a difference in your community. That’s probably why you got into this profession in the first place.

On the other hand, you are in charge of a complex organization that doesn’t have traditional avenues for revue. You have to lead a team (sometimes a small team), build relationships with donors, recruit volunteers, work with your board, plan for growth, and still make sure you are fulfilling your mission.

Then you factor in that many nonprofits are small and finding funding for your big dreams can feel next to impossible.

It’s a lot.

Leading a nonprofit is both rewarding and challenging.

Becoming a Leader

The goal is to learn to lead as effectively and efficiently as possible to minimize all of the organizational clutter so you and your team can focus on what matters most: fulfilling your mission.

The more your organization is weighed down with financial problems, board member conflicts, office drama, inefficient systems and processes, the less time you can work toward the mission and vision of the nonprofit.

There are some books and resources out there to help you with this. However, without someone guiding you through the process and helping you make leadership decisions, it can be lonely and overwhelming to attempt on your own.

At Serve Denton, we believe in collaboration.

We think there is nothing better than people building relationships with each other, getting to share their wins and struggles, learning from each other, and building partnerships that will last long into the hard days of leading a nonprofit. There is nothing better than running into a problem and knowing there are people you can call on for help.

We believe no one should have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to running nonprofits.

There are tried and true methods for leading that just work, regardless of what cause your nonprofit is helping. And for the things that are specific to your organization's needs, it helps to have a coach who knows the ins and outs to help you tailor the methods to your specific need.

In short, relationships is the name of the game.

That’s why we’re launching the Nonprofit Leadership Program.
