Last Saturday, 273 families went home with their hands full of free food from The Mobile Food Pantry. This number equals about 1,106 individuals fed by this new monthly program. The Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Denton Hunger Coalition, a group of agencies and organizations throughout Denton County committed to ending hunger, partnered together to send a mobile food pantry to the Serve Denton parking lot with FREE fresh food for families in need. People arrived early with bags in their hands waiting to pick up food for their families. There was even a couple who took home a basketful of food on their bike. The event made an impact on many people’s lives, and we hope this program continues to help out our neighbors to put food on the table.
Please help us spread the word about this great opportunity that will be taking place on every second Saturday of the month from 9-11 a.m. in the Serve Denton parking lot!
