Starting Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., the Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) is partnering with the Denton Hunger Coalition, a group of agencies and organizations throughout Denton County committed to ending hunger, to send a mobile food pantry to the Serve Denton parking lot with free fresh or frozen food for families in need.
On Saturday, July 18, a similar event was held, The Community Summer Harvest Festival. At this event, 521 families received food, affecting 1,951 individuals, which is why the TAFB has decided to introduce this new program to meet this great need. From here on out, the mobile food pantry will arrive every second Saturday of the month from 9-11 a.m. in the Serve Denton parking lot, located at 1980 East University Drive, Denton, TX 76209.
Each month, the mobile food pantry is projected to feed 600 families, so those in need of food are invited to arrive early to make sure they receive enough for their families. For more information about volunteer opportunities, please contact Marc Thompson at email@example.com.
