Everything You Need to Know About North Texas Giving Day

North Texas Giving Day (NTGD) is almost here, and if you have never participated before, then you might have some questions about what it is and how you can be involved.

NTGD is one of the biggest days of the year for nonprofits in North Texas. It’s a way for you to make an impact in your community—with your community—and for your dollars to go even farther compared to giving on any other day.

This year, North Texas Giving day is on Thursday, September 19!

What is North Texas Giving Day?

North Texas Giving Day is an all-day online event that is designed to make supporting local nonprofits easy and empowering in one day. The event builds awareness for nonprofits and helps maximize the impact a donor can make.

“In 2018, over $48 million was raised through more than 157,000 gifts benefiting 2,700 local nonprofits, bringing the ten-year total to over $240 million for our community. North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. During North Texas Giving Day, everyone has the opportunity to be a philanthropist to build a stronger and more vibrant community.” — North Texas Giving Day

“We’re creating a one-stop shop for humanity.

 What are Bonus Funds?

Bonus Funds help your dollar go farther on North Texas Giving Day.

NTGD determines a percentage to add on top of donations of $1-$10,000. For example, the bonus percentage might be 3%. That would mean if you gave $100, your donation would be worth $103. When this percentage gets added to every donation, that’s a significant amount of bonus funds.

How Do I Give to Serve Denton?

Great question! There a couple of different ways you can support Serve Denton on North Texas Giving Day, depending on how all-in you want to go.

1. Give directly to our NTGD profile at northtexasgivingday.org/serve-denton.

This is the simplest way to support us. If you would like to receive bonus funds on your donation, you must give online through this website.

2. Schedule your donation early.

You can only donate on the day of the event, but you can schedule your donation up to 10 days out. Starting on Monday, September 9, you can go to our NTGD profile listed above and schedule your gift early in case you are busy on the day itself or so you don’t have to remember.

 3. Spread the word

Whether you donate to us or not, you can still help us spread the word by sharing our NTGD profile on your social media profiles! You can post the link on Facebook, a screenshot on your Instagram story, or tweet it out. You can also share any of the Serve Denton social media posts about the event.

The more people that know about it (and us), the better!

Why Should I Give to Serve Denton?

Glad you asked! At Serve Denton, we partner with nonprofits to help make their services more accessible for people in need. We’re creating a one-stop shop for humanity.

Too many people don’t receive help because they don’t know where to go or because services aren’t accessible. We want to put an end to that.

By having multiple nonprofits collocate in one building, people in need only have to come to one location to receive help, nonprofits save money so they can increase their impact, and nonprofits can collaborate to make sure everyone’s needs are holistically met.

You might not be familiar with the concept of nonprofit centers, but you can learn more about what we do and the impact it makes on a community by reading this article on our blog.

We want to fill the 19 rungs on our Ladder of Self-Sufficiency so people in need can come to one location and receive everything they need to get back on their feet.

Thank you for your support of Serve Denton on North Texas Giving Day! Together, we can help those in need find help here.
