The Wheeler House Mom Makes an Impact

Jainah loves to serve. She loves to minister to those who are overlooked, underestimated and outcasted in their own communities. When looking for a place to use her skill set, she came across The Wheeler House.

Jainah has been the House Mom at The Wheeler House since it opened in 2015 and recently concluded her time with us. While most people would have only stayed for one year, Jainah stayed for three.

The Wheeler House Welcomes the Butterflies!

The Wheeler House Welcomes the Butterflies!

Last Saturday, February 18th, seven TWU students from the Kappa Sigma fraternity joined Dr. Jeffrey Robb, TWU professor and butterfly expert, on Saturday, to 11:00 a.m. to prepare the backyard of The Wheeler House for Huffines Subaru to plant a butterfly garden! This equipped the space for the actual planting of native vines and plants that attract butterflies toward the end of March. The students transplanted redbud trees, tilled the ground and spread lava sand. The Wheeler House is a Serve Denton project, home to a transitional housing facility for moms and kids in a housing crisis managed by Giving Hope, Inc. and an affordable health clinic managed by Health Services of North Texas.
