We are so excited to welcome Zoie’s Place to the Serve Denton Center as our newest partner agency!
Since 2016, Zoie’s place has provided transitional housing services to homeless girls ages 18-24 years-old who have aged out of foster care. Their organization works to equip, empower and prepare these young women for adulthood. Their vision is to have a world in which all youth aging out of foster care can thrive.
Services Zoie’s Place Provides
Zoie’s Place provides shelter to homeless youth who have aged out of the foster care system. They also provide life skills classes and opportunities to help these women identify the steps needed to achieve self-sufficiency.
The program can house four women at a time. The goal of the program is to prepare residents for independent living in 9 to 12 months.
“Our main program is transitional housing for young women aging out of foster care,” Founder Brandy Coty said. “We also provide life skills classes and mentorship services. We work to provide the needs of young adults at the local college campuses who have aged out of foster care such as backpacks and school supplies for new enrollment and meals for those living on campus for the summer.”
Zoie’s Place’s first transitional living site was located in Dallas, TX, but they have recently relocated to Denton, TX.
Even though they have moved locations, Zoie’s Place still offers Life Skills Classes and Mentorship in Dallas County.
They expanded their services to Denton County due to the increasing need of college students needing housing. They also take interns each year from the local colleges.
“Prior to coming to Serve Denton, we were officing in a room in the transitional home in Dallas,” Coty said. “This was very difficult as you can imagine due to limited space and made work efficiency challenging.”
Through generous donations, their Denton home has been furnished and has officially opened its doors to help young women!
Zoie’s Place is looking forward to partnering with Serve Denton and starting a new chapter of their organization in Denton County. By officing at the Serve Denton Center, Zoie’s Place estimates they will save 50% on rent each month!
“We are so grateful for this opportunity,” Coty said. “We have felt so welcomed by Serve Denton, and we are excited to partner with this organization.”
Along with their new housing facility in Denton, TX, and new office at the Serve Denton Center, Zoie’s Place is looking forward to working and collaborating with the other nonprofits at the Serve Denton Center.
“I love the concept of creating a space where the needs of the clients can be served in one area,” Coty said. “As a new organization to Denton, I am excited to work so closely with other community partners.”
Welcome to the Serve Denton Center, Zoie’s Place!
