Position Summary: The Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the execution of the annual development plan for Serve Denton. This position assists in donor database management, corporate donations, individual giving and grants. This position’s responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that meet quality expectations.
The desired outcome of this position is to assist in the backend management of development and increase revenue. The position supports the “Develop Resources” theme in the strategic plan.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Nonprofit Management, Business, Event Management, PR or Marketing.
Minimum of one year experience in development or another field with transferrable skills.
Proven experience as an events planner or organizer.
Impressive portfolio of past development work including events and donor stewardship.
Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and in a team format.
Skills to build relationships with individuals and businesses.
Strong writing skills.
Highly organized and can pull together complex grant proposals and ensure all pieces are properly submitted.
High comfort level working with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, donor management databases and sending professional correspondence.
Poised, well spoken, professional and friendly demeanor.
Ability to create a positive office culture and to work as a team with current office staff.
Excels in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
